Pharmacy Department

The CMH Pharmacy department is responsible for the ordering, distribution and appropriate use of the medications needed by the patients in our facility. Earlier this year, a PYXIS Medstation was purchased and installed to allow nurses immediate access to medications. This complex technology interfaces with our electronic medical record system to allow complete tracking of medications all the way to the patient’s bedside.

CMH has also employed the ePharmacy service to ensure that each medication order is reviewed by a pharmacist before it is given to the patient. This service has proved to be a valuable resource to the pharmacy and nursing departments, as well as to our providers. Our staff also provides information about drugs to the providers and nurses, and helps to assure the safe and effective use of medication in the care of our patients.
