2008 Pheasantennial Shot Gun Winner
Troy Muellenberg from Shakopee, MN shot the first banded pheasant at 12:30 pm Saturday, October 18. The Browning Silver Hunter he won was sponsored by the Redfield Area Chamber of Commerce and co-sponsored by the City of Redfield, GISI Pheasant Farm, Schroeder Motors, Appel Oil, Redfield Tire, Johnson Oil, Animal Health, Super 8, Dairy Queen, Heartland State Bank, Gillette Law Office, One Stop, Casey’s General Store, Spink County Farm & Hardware, and The Lumberyard. Troy, the grandson of Wallace and Eileen Muellenberg, Redfield was hunting with his dad, Daryl, and brother Troy. The Redfield Area Chamber releases 4 banded rooster pheasants annually with the first to report the band winning a shot gun. This year there were prizes for all bands reported.
Winners of the 2008 Redfield Area Chamber of Commerce Decoration Contest
include Deb Erb in the residential category and the Redfield UCC Church in the business category. Deb went all out with her Halloween display in her front yard. The Redfield UCC Church created a seasonal display representational of the church.
