In honor of the 100th anniversary of the pheasant, South Dakota
planned a season-long celebration. The Pheasantennial: 100 Years of
Tradition, celebrated the history and heritage of the South Dakota
state bird, while emphasizing the importance of conservation and
preservation for future outdoor enthusiasts.
